Northeastern Eye Institute's Dallas office is located at 3168 Memorial Highway, Suite 4 in the Walgreen's Plaza, next to Dunkin' Donuts. This location also serves the communities of Harvey's Lake, Lehman, Sweet Valley, Hunlock Creek, Noxen, Trucksville, Shavertown, Center Moreland, Kunkle, Beaumont, Orange and Idetown. The office offers convenient appointment times, with Saturday and Thursday evening appointments available.
A whole range of eyecare services, including regular eye exams, contact lens care and treatment of eye diseases, are offered at the Dallas location. The office boasts a great selection of frames and lens options, from the hottest designers to our affordable eyewear packages. Eyewear and sunwear designers for men and women include, Prada, Fendi, Juicy Couture, Coach, Gucci, Furla, Lacoste, Perry Ellis, Elle, Esprit, BCBG and Anna Sui. Young adult and children's brands feature Guess, Izod, Ocean Pacific, Converse and Sketchers. Sunwear selections also include, Ray Ban, Maui Jim and Costa DelMar.
The medical staff at this office includes Thomas S. Boland, M.D., Curtis Goodwin, O.D., Melanie Brown DeMichele, O.D. and Cynthia G. Charnetski, O.D. All of the Dallas doctors reside in the Backmountain area.
Dr. Boland is a member of Gate of Heaven Church. He has served on the Athletic Committee, coached basketball and served on various other committees at Gate of Heaven School over the years. He has also coached youth soccer and basketball in the Backmountain and Wyoming Valley Leagues. Dr. Boland also serves as a faculty member of The Commonwealth Medical College.
Dr. Goodwin, who has practiced in the Dallas area since 1979, is a member of VOST — Volunteers of Optometric Service to Humanity and is a supporter of The United Way.
Dr. DeMichele has participated in Health Fairs for various organizations and workplaces in the area. She also does volunteer work and fundraising for Yale Cancer Research, St. Judes Children's Hospital, The American Cancer Society and MDA.
Dr. Charnetski is a member of the Wilkes University Alumni Board of Directors and an undergraduate Psychology major mentor at Wilkes. She is also a Board member of Step by Step, a member of the Kosciuszko Foundation and she volunteers for the Luzerne County SPCA.
