Northeastern Eye Institute’s Wilkes-Barre Main Street office is located at 141 S. Main Street adjacent to Bartikowsky Jewelers, just two blocks south of Public Square. This office also serves the communities of Hanover Township., Kingston, Edwardsville, Swoyersville, Plymouth, Nanticoke, Plains, Forty Fort, Larksville, Pringle, Glen Lyon, Ashley and Sugar Notch.

The Main Street Wilkes-Barre office offers a wide range of services including treatment of diseases of the eye, regular eye exams and contact lens services. The full service optical department stocks the latest in designer frame product as well as our affordable eyewear packages. Eyewear and sunwear designers for men and women include, BCBG, Furla, Etro, Lacoste, Perry Ellis, Elizabeth Arden, Elle, and Esprit. Young adult and children's brands feature Guess, Ocean Pacific, Izod, Converse, and Sketchers.

Thomas S. Boland, M.D., Gary E. Frank, O.D., Jerard W. Brown, O.D. and John Menzel, O.D. practice at this location.

Dr. Boland is a member of Gate of Heaven Church. He has served on the Athletic Committee, coached basketball and served on various other committees at Gate of Heaven School over the years. He has also coached youth soccer and basketball in the Backmountain and Wyoming Valley Leagues. Dr. Boland also serves as a faculty member of The Commonwealth Medical College.

Dr. Frank specializes in contact lenses and primary eyecare. He joined Northeastern Eye Institute in 1997 after practicing with Dr. Brown's Eyecare since 1968. He resides in Harvey's Lake.

Dr. Brown joined Northeastern Eye Institute in 1997. Prior to joining NEI he was associated with Dr. Brown's Eyecare from 1971 to 1997. He specializes in general optometry, contact lenses, geriatric eye care, and treatment and management of ocular diseases. A resident of Kingston, Dr. Brown is a member of the Westmorland Club and the Masonic Lodge.

Dr. Menzel joined the staff of Northeastern Eye Institute in 1997. He previously practiced with Dr. Brown's Eyecare since 1975. Dr. Menzel practices general optometry with special interests in contact lenses and geriatric eye care. He resides in the Backmountain area.

Staff members participate each year in the NEPA Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and also support the Irish-American Men's Association Education Fund. The doctors and staff also strongly support the United Way of Wyoming Valley.

The Main Street Wilkes-Barre office offers convenient appointment times including two evenings and Saturdays. Plenty of parking is available.
