Eye Allergies

We are fast approaching the time of year where pollen from trees, plants, and grasses can begin causing serious eye irritation. If you struggle with eye allergies, keeping these irritants out of the eyes is essential for lasting comfort.

While staying inside can help, it’s far from a practical approach – nor is it an enjoyable way to enjoy the warmer spring weather. Instead, consider eyeglasses or sunglasses when outside. While not a foolproof way to keep allergens away from the eyes, the right pair of glasses can go a long way towards minimizing exposure and maximizing relief.

The Scranton eye doctors at North Eastern Eye Institute are pleased to offer a comprehensive range of eyewear – both prescription and non – that can be customized to meet the demands of your particular lifestyle. No matter if you enjoy the outdoors casually or prefer to spend as much time as possible outside of the confines of buildings, we have the glasses and sunglasses to meet your needs. We welcome optical walk-ins at all of our Northeastern Pennsylvania locations, but can offer more individualized services when eyewear shopping is done in conjunction with a general eye exam. These exams also enable us to determine if your eye irritation is caused by allergens or is related to another issue entirely.

If you are suffering from dry, itchy, red, or watery eyes, please contact Northeastern Eye Institute to schedule an examination. We have several locations throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania including Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.
