Northeastern Eye Institute's Tunkhannock office is located at 304 West Tioga Street. This office also serves the communities of Meshoppen, Mehoopany, Dushore, Laceyville, Springville, Dimock, Eaton Twp., Nicholson, Factoryville, Dalton, Falls, Noxen, Lake Winola, Dallas and Wyalusing.
The Tunkhannock office offers both ophthalmology and optometry services, including treatment of diseases of the eye, diagnostic testing services including Visual Fields, Pachymetry and OCTs, regular eye exams and contact lens services. The doctors and staff also work very closely with area businesses including P&G and Cargill. A great selection of eyeglass frames is available, from the hottest designer products to our affordable eyewear packages. Eyewear and sunwear designers include, Silhouette, Furla, Etro, Perry Ellis, Elizabeth Arden, Elle and Esprit. Sunwear selections also include Ray Ban and Costa DelMar. Young adult and children's brands feature, Guess, Ocean Pacific, Izod, Converse, and Sketchers. And, there is free Wi-fi available in waiting areas.
Dr. William Jordan, Jr. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with special interests including cataract surgery and glaucoma. He serves on the Board of the Lackawanna Branch of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind and is the co-chairman of its annual Swing for Sight golf tournament. He is also a site director for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of The Commonwealth Medical College. Dr. Jordan is a member of the National Ski Patrol and is on the Ski Patrol at Elk Mountain Ski Resort.
Dr. Hildebrand joined Northeastern Eye Institute in 1996. Prior to that, he was in private practice for 16 years. He also served organized optometry for several years and is past president of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Society and was awarded Pennsylvania's Optometrist of the Year in 1992. An avid skier, Dr. Hildebrand is also a member of the Elk Mountain Ski Patrol.
Dr. Alpha joined Northeastern Eye Institute in 1991. From 1983 to 1986, Dr. Alpha served in the U.S. Air Force at Hurlbart Field, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He achieved a rank of Captain and served as chief of Optometry Service. He specializes in geriatrics, contact lenses and general optometry.
The Tunkhannock doctors and staff support the Lake Lehman Wrestling & Soccer Booster clubs, the Tunkhannock Soccer and Lacrosse teams, the Lake Winola Fire Company, the Tunkhannock Lions Club, Wyoming County Toys for Tots and Juvenile Diabetes Awareness.
