Northeastern Eye Institute’s Montrose office is located at 16749 State Route 706 in the Rob’s Market Plaza. In addition to Montrose, this office also serves the communities of Susquehanna, Gibson, Jackson, Uniondale, New Milford, Hallstead, Great Bend, Dimock, Springville, Lawton, Tunkhannock, Brackney, Little Meadows , Apalachin and Starucca. There is easy access and ample parking available at this location.

Education

Dr. Muckin received his Bachelor’s Degree at Susquehanna University in Biology, Chemistry and Health Care Studies, graduating with highest honors. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Elkins Park, PA, graduating as Valedictorian of his class.

Dr. Muckin completed externships at the Eye and Sight Center in Voorhees, NJ, Matossian Eye Associates in Hopewell, NJ, Einstein Ophthalmology Associates in Philadelphia, PA, The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, as well as our very own Northeastern Eye Institute. At these rotations, Dr. Muckin worked alongside both optometrists and ophthalmologists, gaining valuable experience in specialty contact lenses, ocular pathology, and pre-/post-surgical care of cataract, LASIK, and glaucoma patients. As a long-time resident of NEPA, Dr. Muckin is very excited to return to serve the health care needs of our local community.

During his time at Salus, Dr. Muckin was President of Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, a Student Ambassador, and volunteered every year for the Special Olympics “Opening Eyes” program. Dr. Muckin is a board-certified optometrist, as well as a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry.

In addition to obtaining his doctorate degree, Dr. Muckin received awards for “clinical excellence” in ocular pathology, pediatric care, and primary care during his rotations.
