Desperate Optometrists: Unusual Cases in Anterior Segment Disease

Presenters continued the Golden Globe theme this morning with “Desperate Optometrists: Unusual Cases in Anterior Segment Disease,” presented by St. Louis, Missouri optometrist John McGreal, Paul Karpecki, O.D., of the Cincinnati Eye Institute and optometrist Joe Shovlin of Scranton, Pa.

The cases that had the audience especially involved included a patient who had chronic red eye that moved from one eye to the other; an overweight patient who complained of flashes of light and ocular migraines; and a female executive who was completing her MBA and presented with 20/20 vision, redness, pain and a strange central corneal lesion. The presenters engaged the audience in making the correct diagnosis, determining what tests should be done and deciding upon appropriate treatment plans.
